CAMERA LIGHT SEAL

A choice of nine various types & thickness of light seal and mirror cushion foams which have been found to be useful in various applications in the repair of cameras.

The self adhesive and non adhesive 3mm and 5mm open cell foam is the standard light seal used by camera manufacturers and is not generally available to the public.

The more dense 1.5mm and 2mm thick closed cell foams in both self adhesive and plain format are used where a slightly firmer material is required for replacement light seal or mirror cushion. These foams are more easily cut into very thin strips.

The 1mm self adhesive felt is that which is used for light seal on some cameras and also in film cassettes.

Some makes of cameras have a special cotton seal about 1.5mm in diameter which runs in a groove around the perimeter of the camera body. This type of seal is not immediately obvious but if it deteriorates it can cause the film access dor to rattle and and not close firmly against the main body causing light leakage. This is readily replaced by the 1.5mm  cotton seal  available from this site

CLASSIC CAMERA COMPLETE LIGHT SEAL REPAIR KIT

A pack of nine different foams & 1m of cotton string seal as above with 10ml of adhesive remover that will harmlessly remove the sticky residue of the old light seal and 10ml of seal adhesive that will secure the new foam seal to the painted metal surface of a camera. Plus two wooden scrapers to scrape away the old seal without doing damage to the camera, absorbent cotton buds and tweezers to assist in placing the new seal.
